In recent months there have been reports that the UK Government is planning on ending access to free lateral flow tests in England.
Lateral flow tests (LFT) for COVID-19 have been extremely useful for many people across the country, allowing them to have a better idea about their risk of catching or spreading the virus when meeting with others, specifically for those clinically extremely vulnerable (CEV) leukaemia patients.
In a recent poll by Leukaemia Care, 92% of patients said they benefited from access to lateral flow tests, with 64% sharing that it benefitted their mental health which is why we are calling for the Department for Health and Social Care to reconsider any plans of removing access to free lateral flow tests until rates of COVID-19 are much lower in the UK.
Support leukaemia patients and sign our petition to keep universal access to free lateral flow tests.
